Hi, I’m Julia (Ningjing) Chen, a Los Angeles–based Senior Brand & Motion Designer with an MFA in Computer Arts from the School of Visual Arts. With a foundation in 2D and 3D motion, I’ve developed a multidisciplinary practice spanning brand, visual design, digital experiences, and storytelling.

For the past three years at Harness, I’ve been serving as the company’s sole in-house motion designer in a fast-moving B2B SaaS environment. I translate complex software delivery concepts into clear, engaging visual experiences, owning motion end to end—from concept, storyboarding, and visual development through animation and final delivery—across web, product launches, campaigns, social content, OOH, and events. I partner closely with Brand, Product Marketing, Web, Content, Events, and Engineering teams to carry ideas from strategy through execution. I’m especially drawn to work that combines thoughtful storytelling, strong visual craft, motion, and emerging technology.
